Hurricane season begins June 1 Dozens of shelter workers will be needed to support displaced families during and after a storm, helping to provide shelter, food, support and hope. The American Red Cross and RSVP are teaming up to host a training for Emergency Sheltering in Santa Rosa County. The purpose of this course is to prepare participants to assist in the opening, organizing, operation and closing of a Red Cross shelter. Participants will then have the opportunity to sign up to work in a shelter during the 2015 Hurricane Season. This training is great for groups, families, or individuals who want to serve their community. For more information, contact Doug Watson with the American Red Cross at 432-7601 or Doug.Watson@redcross.org.
