On Monday, Oct. 10, a headline linking to a story about child neglect ran on our website beside a photo of Kelsey Rayanne Smith. While a click on either would have brought readers to the appropriate story, we've learned that some have assumed the photo and headline (due to placement) were related. In point of fact, they were not.
The paper regrets any confusion this may have caused and sincere apologies to Kelsey Smith for the trouble she endured.
