MILTON — Since September of last year, Very Berry sold frozen yogurt and wraps, sandwiches and sub sandwiches at 5237 Willing St. in downtown Milton. Thursday, owner Stuart Norris, who also owns the East Milton Piggly Wiggly, announced on his Facebook page that he's selling the business.
Norris said, "I'm just trying to do something else. I'd love to see Milton grow and see another restaurant move in."
He said he's not seeing fast enough growth downtown. "A lot changes in a year," he said. One of those changes is the recent election in which city of Milton incumbents fared poorly.
Norris said the move isn't a direct response to the election. A new judicial center might not remain downtown, Norris said, but he added that selling Very Berry also didn't have to do with that.
Norris' reasoning had to do with the city's future, he said. "It's a toss-up on the future of Milton. It could go either way. An investor could come in and buy up a lot. The opportunity is there, but the right guy is not there."
Norris is asking $195,000, he said. Call 393-9560 for more information.
