SPEAK OUT: Hiroshima, hungry children, America needing God, dangerous roads

MILTON — Here are the latest calls we received on Santa Rosa County and Milton area issues.

WE JUST WANT TO BUY A BEER

Nobody is calling for open containers to be all over the place like in New Orleans. We just want to be able to go buy a beer and not have to drive to Pensacola on Sunday. As far as this being like Mayberry, I think we're already there.

WHY APOLOGIZE TO JAPAN?

This is Mary, a concerned senior citizen. Does it not seem strange or does it not make you angry that (President Barack) Obama would go over to Japan and apologize for Americans dropping a bomb on Hiroshima, when they are the ones that dropped a bomb on Pearl Harbor and killed a lot of people?

Has he not got his ideas mixed up? Does he not know history?

It's pitiful that he would go over there and apologize for something that they did.

ROSASCO STREET NEEDS CLEANING

Rosasco Street (is) in … desperate need of a cleanup crew to come through.

HOMOSEXUALITY ISN’T THE ONLY SIN

This is Tony the critic … I agree that Christians are weak, but I also agree that a single sin is not to be made an agenda. There are other sins that need to be addressed as well … Let's not forget adultery, lying, gossiping, slandering and a multitude of others, all of which cannot be in God's presence.

MRS. OBAMA: HELP SANTA ROSA COUNTY’S HUNGRY CHILDREN

They say around 700 children in Santa Rosa County are hungry and homeless. Around Richmond, there are a bunch of kids with no food. I would just like to know, if you could do something and get the attention of Mrs. Obama to visit these kids to make sure they get help … Thank you; this is Maria.

BEWARE OF HAMILTON BRIDGE ROAD SPEEDERS

Hi, my name is Wayne and I live on Hamilton Bridge Road, west of the Tom Thumb. Here on the corner, we need to have police presence with radars. The people use it like it is a raceway, speeding more than 35 miles per hour.

Many times, it sounds like a race car driving by at high speeds, and it is very dangerous to the residents living right on that street trying come out of their driveways.

CHURCHES DISAGREE WITH EACH OTHER

This is Tony the critic, still trying to get three verses in Speak Out: Matthew 28:18, Romans 13:1 and Hebrews 13:17. I has been my experience, growing up in church, that there is not one church that agrees with another church. Each and every church thinks they are the only one that gets everything right.

THIS COUNTRY NEEDS GOD

This is Raymond, and I come to give a fair warning to the people of the United States. It is time to stop sitting on your mouth if you profess to be a Christian. It seems as though the more homosexuals come out of their closet, the more the Christians seem to step in.

It will be shameful to be before God, and you could never acknowledge his laws and his wants to those who are living in darkness and, I tell ya, America is moving fast in the wrong direction.

Wake up out of your sleep, those who profess Christ. God did not give you a spirit of fear. Step up and speak out to the dying world that is in need of God — especially in this country.
