Hale convicted of attempted murder

Normond L. Hale could be facing a minimum mandatory of 45 years in state prison with a possibility of a life sentence after recently being convicted of two counts of attempted first degree murder with a firearm and for shooting within a building, according to a press release from State Attorney Bill Eddins Office.

According to the release, the incident took place on June 6 of last year in which Hale entered a residence on Hartington Drive in Navarre with a .357 revolver tucked into his pants. Hale then began to argue with his ex-girlfriend. The argue concluded with Hale shooting himself through the jaw and then shooting the female three times in rapid succession while inside the house.

Hale then exited the house to fire the remaining two shots from the 6-shot revolver at a man who had been visiting the victim. The primary victim survived her injuries due to life-saving treatment at Baptist Hospital, according to the release. The second victim was not injured.

While currently being incarcerated at the Santa Rosa County Jail, Hale is scheduled to be sentenced on January 14, 2016.
