This is Oscar Green calling. I’m calling about the taxes for the courthouse. We’re already taxed to death. What people don’t know is the county has taxes we don’t know what they use the money for. What is the county doing with the taxes tagged on cell phone tax? It’s called a communication tax? Increase in sales tax on gasoline? Prices are higher than what they were several years ago. There’s a half cent tax on every gallon. Franchise fee on electricity, another tax we don’t know what they do with. Liquor tax and beer tax, they increased the license fee on car tags. People don’t think about this, but what do they do with all of this money. I want to know what they’re doing with all of this extra tax? They put every dollar together, all the money in one pie. Publish this and show it to the people instead of having it all together. I want to know why we need a sales tax for the courthouse. What will they do with it all? Thank you.

This is Bill. I am responding to the article about the courthouse and the ballot for voting where it should be. I just don’t understand how the county commissioners can make voting so complicated and impossible to understand how to vote on the ballot. I want to say to Jerry about having Highway 90 going through Milton I agree with him about the old buildings not being historical. It’s time for the county commissioners get Highway 90 four -laned through downtown. The historical buildings will not be damaged and the old buildings that are not historical need to be removed.
