Brand new to being senior pastor, Reverend Brandon Dasinger has yet to give his first sermon at First United Methodist Church Pace. His first day on the job was Monday.
Dasinger said he’s ready to get started with the job, having 12 years experience in ministry. Coming from First United Methodist Church Crestview, he was youth minister and teaching pastor.
“Here there’s only one pastor,” he said smiling.
Dasinger said he and his wife Kelli have two children: Kenzi, 4 and Caleb, 7 months old. Caleb was adopted.
“Kelli and I have a heart for orphan care and adoption,” he said.
Dasinger will continue the community efforts Reverend John Webb established in reaching the lost.
“I have a desire to help the community locally and internationally, and increase the amount of service for the neighborhood,” he said.
One of the questions Dasinger said he keeps in mind when thinking about a local church is if First United Methodist Pace were to disappear, would the community notice. “I hope Pace would notice,” he answered. He said his heart is caring for people.
“My wife and I have a passion for families, youth and children,” he said.
