PRESS RELEASE
State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that on March 20, 2013, a Grand Jury indicted
Robert Dale Purifoy and D’Montrey James for First Degree Murder in the death of Amber
Johnson. Purifoy was also indicted on one count of Attempted First Degree Murder for the
shooting of Justin Stanley.
The murder occurred on November 6, 2012, during a home invasion on Stefani Circle.
Johnson was shot and killed. Stanley was also shot but survived his injuries.
Arraignment for both defendants is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2013.
The investigation and arrest was conducted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Assistant State Attorney Jeff Gaddy is prosecuting the case.
