PACE — Pace High School softball pitcher Caitlin Schroeder will continue playing her sport with Coastal Alabama Community College, formerly Jefferson Davis Community College.

Here, we catch up with Schroeder.

What inspired you to play softball?

My brother (Brady Barnes) played T-ball. I grew up watching him. I’ve been playing since I was 8 years old. I’m excited. The school is only 40 minutes away, but I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life.

What will you study?

My major will be nursing. I like helping people. I might become a doctor or a surgeon. I like learning anatomy; how the body works. It’s interesting.

What’s your favorite movie?

I like scary movies (like) "A Nightmare on Elm Street."

What else do you love?

I love my family and I go to the beach a lot. Mostly I play softball.

What do you say to your teammates back at Pace?

I want to wish my teammates luck and I love them very much. Work hard and follow your dreams and goals.
