SPEAK OUT: Thoughts on Milton website, evolution

Here are featured comments from our Speak Out hotline, discussions on www.srpressgazette.com and its sister websites.

ALLOW ALL OR NONE

How pathetic. Milton has too many personality-driven organizations that want to further their own personal desires, and profit from them only for themselves, and not for the city or the people, and the betterment of all of Milton.

The city's website should be just that. No links. If I want to link my business to the city's website, then it appears the city of Milton endorses my website and my business. Think about it.

So, the city of Milton supports Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation, Main Street Milton and other organizations? Why? No offense to them; just why would the city support some, and not others?

Everyone should have a link to the city's website, or no links should be allowed.

And who has control of what goes on, and what does not? And who is that person affiliated to?

Makes you wonder.

I love Milton, but it seems no one can get along. The Milton City Council needs to be business neutral. No one business should be above the other. As it should be.

Support all businesses in Milton. We are all in this together. All for the betterment of the city and for the people of Milton!

Get a grip, y'all! Just my opinion. Rant over!

CENSOR AND BE CENSORED

I don't know who Mrs. (Sharon) Holley is; don't know anything about her. But it seems to me with her argument about what Milton Main Street had posted on their website, she's into censorship.

As a representative of (a) business which pays taxes, Main Street has every right to have a link on the Milton website. Sounds like she doesn't want other people's opinion heard, but she definitely wants hers to be heard.

My suggestion is, if you try to censor, you may be censored.

MORE RESTAURANTS, PLEASE

How about fuss over what new businesses and jobs could and should be done for Milton. Although I appreciate all our mom and pop restaurants, why can't we get a Cracker Barrel, a decent-named brand buffet — so over sick of Ryan’s.

EVOLUTION IS EVIDENT

Evolution is simply true, no matter your religious persuasion. Millions of Christians have found themselves able to reconcile the facts of nature (evolution) with their religious faith. Just like they did with heliocentricity, etc.

Because the evidence for evolution is so compelling to a rational person.
