LETTER: No taxpayer bailout for Trump ‘no care’

[Pixabay.com]

Dear editor,

Grace has no place with current Republican leadership.

They define health care as a $600 billion tax bailout for the richest of the rich Americans. They place this gift on the backs of 24 million low-income and elderly Americans who will lose health care coverage.

They also take billions from Medicaid that helps poor children, pregnant women, disabled people and senior citizens.

Protection for pre-existing conditions under Obamacare is removed.

For example, the pregnant, disabled and senior citizens are no longer protected.

Premiums for healthy people over (age) 50 can exceed younger people by five times their premium.

Huge deductibles are encouraged.

People with heart or rheumatoid conditions, for example, can be charged premiums of additional tens of thousands of dollars annually.

Local Republican leadership enthusiastically embraces this.

When the scroll of Isaiah was handed to Jesus on the Sabbath in the synagogue in Nazareth, he read that the Spirit of the Lord anointed him to proclaim good news to the poor, (provide) recovery of sight for the blind, and to set the oppressed free. (Luke 4:16-18).

Where is the outrage?
