Gulf Islands National Seashore’s May ranger programs

GULF BREEZE — Here is Gulf Islands National Seashore’s May ranger programs schedule. All programs are free to participate in and are subject to change without notification. 

SCHOOL OF THE SOLDIERMUSKET FIRING DEMONSTRATIONS: 11 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Meet at Fort Pickens’ entrance.

FORT PICKENS — GARRISON FOR FREEDOM: 2 p.m. daily except May 12 and 16. Meet at the entrance to Fort Pickens.

FORT BARRANCAS — GUARDIAN OF THE GULF: 2 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays, except May 12. Meet at the Fort Barrancas Visitor Center.

ADVANCED REDOUBT: LEGACY IN BRICK & MORTAR: 12:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays; meet at Advanced Redoubt’s entrance.

BEACH WALK — LIFE ON A BARRIER ISLAND: 12:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Meet at the Fort Pickens Museum. Adults must accompany children who participate in this 30-minute program.

CREATURE FEATURE: 3:30 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Meet at the Fort Pickens Museum. Adults must accompany children for this 30-minute talk.

DUSK ON THE GULF: 6:30 p.m. Saturdays; meet in the Battery Worth Amphitheater.

STARGAZING: 7:45-10 p.m. May 26, Battery Worth Picnic Area. Join park staff and volunteers from the Escambia Amateur Astronomers Association for a night under the stars. Get an up-close view of some celestial objects and learn more about the night sky. Telescopes will be available for use. 

There is an entrance fee to the Fort Pickens and Fort Barrancas areas.
