MILTON — At approximately 9 p.m. July 19, deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at 6461 Sunny Acres Court in Milton. Dispatch was advised an adult male was shot.
Upon arrival, deputies found a responsive and alert victim. Emergency medical services transported him to a local area hospital for treatment.
He received his wounds after being shot with a shotgun by an unknown suspect(s) who entered the residence by force. Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to begin the investigation.
At this time, this remains an active case. Detectives are working leads and processing evidence. As more information becomes available, follow up press releases will be issued.
The SRSO asks anyone with information related to the suspects in this case to contact the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers program at 437-STOP. There is a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
As of July 23 there are no new developments in the investigation according to the SRSO.
