No taxpayer bailout for robber barons of the disabled

Dear editor,

Republican leadership plans to take away $800 billion from the disabled and give it to their billionaire donors.

Their plan takes money away from health care for 50 percent of mothers giving birth, 60 percent of disabled children, 30 percent of disabled adults; (and would) then gift that to their privileged donors.

Having fought for the disabled for nearly 40 years, I remain amazed at how hard many fight for dignity despite unbearable odds. Now, millions of disabled Americans face life back on the street or in the woods. They face fears of being placed out of nursing homes, out of disabled care, and out of their choice.

Who will pay for their local needs?

The Republican robber barons will likely toast their reward, secure on some private island, outside the United States, with untouchable banking laws.

John Adams, reflecting on if we would fully appreciate their risks taken fighting wealthy tyrants for our liberty, wished us to make good use of it.

If you are disabled, you may use my office to fight the wealthy tyrants taking your liberty today.  As we all celebrate liberty this Fourth of July, you can help.
