Santa Rosa students recognized

MILTON — Here are highlights involving area students: 

  • Kirsten Ihns, a native of Gulf Breeze, received an MFA-English degree from the University of Iowa at the close of the spring 2017 semester. 
  • Kathryn Liggett of Pace made the dean's list for the spring 2017 semester at Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn. Liggett majors in Outdoor Studies & Tourism. Consideration for the dean's list is open to full-time students who have a grade point average of at least a 3.6 in all coursework and no grade below a "C." 
  • Oglethorpe University Athletics welcomes the newest Stormy Petrels for the 2017-2018 season, including Thomas Campa and Reddon McLaurine of Gulf Breeze; both play baseball.
  • Christiane Gambold of Milton joined other new students as Bob Jones University hosted its second session of summer orientation June 23-24. Incoming students and their parents attended informational sessions about the BJU experience, had the opportunity to ask questions regarding academics, financial aid and student life and generally became familiar with the campus. Additionally, students could connect with other new students, current students and faculty. Gambold will major in Theatre Arts when classes begin Aug. 30.
