MILTON — These library events are scheduled throughout Santa Rosa County.  

STORYTIME PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-5: These are presented through July 14 as follows:

  • 11-11:30 a.m. Mondays at the Jay Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. or 1-1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library
  • 11:15-11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
  • 11:15-11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

Storytime includes stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children to the programs. See www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries for more details.

GAME NIGHT: 3-6 p.m. July 18 at the Jay Library, 5259 Booker Lane. Guests can bring their own games from home, or play those provided by the library. This event is open to all ages, and game groups are welcome.

FAMILY MOVIES: 4 p.m. July 18 and 25 at the Pace Library, 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. The Friends of the Pace Library will provide refreshments. A variety of entertaining movies will be shown, and there will be a craft accompanying the July 18 movie.

DAIRY FARMING: Kindergartners through fifth-graders may attend this informative program about dairy farming; they can learn about life on a dairy farm and listen to a story about Ferdinand the Bull. Here’s the schedule:

  • 1 p.m. July 19 at the Milton Library
  • 1 p.m. July 25 at the Jay Library
  • 3 p.m. July 26 at the Pace Library

SUMMER AFTERNOON MOVIES: 4 p.m. July 19 and 26 at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. A variety of entertaining movies will be shown. The Friends of the Milton Library will provide refreshments.

DOCUMENTARY AND DISCUSSION: 6 p.m. July 19 at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. This month's documentary is Netflix's "13th.” The Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library will provide popcorn and coffee; feel free to bring your own beverage.

SPIDERS: 1 p.m. July 26 at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. The Blackwater Heritage State Trail will present an informative program on spiders. Topics will include which species of spiders live in our area, as well as which types are poisonous. This program is for kindergartners through fifth-graders.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM: Online registration has begun for children from preschool age to those who have completed the fifth grade. After registering, pick up a reading calendar at the library. Read for 15 minutes per day between now and July 14 for prizes. Minutes that parents read to preschoolers count. Bring completed reading logs to the library through July 30 to claim prizes.
