FORT WALTON BEACH — Two Pensacola residents have been indicted for the murder of a Fort Walton Beach man.
According to a press release from the State Attorney’s Office, Jordan Elijah Phillips, 24, and Carissa Lynn Parker, 27, were indicted by an Okaloosa County Grand Jury for the first-degree premeditated and/or first-degree felony murder of Edgar Williams Jennings III.
The killing occurred on Nov. 19, 2019, when Jennings was shot at his home on 999 Culp Ave.
Victim identified in home invasion robbery
During a controlled phone call with another individual on Dec. 6, 2019, Parker identified the shooter as “TG,” otherwise known as Jordan Phillips, and gave other information about the shooting, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said.
During a follow-up interview with investigators on Dec. 10, 2019, Parker admitted to picking up Phillips at his Pensacola home and driving him around to sell narcotics. She said she also explained to him her situation involving her child and Jennings, the child’s father.
OCSO reported that Parker said Phillips told her to drive to Jennings’ home. Before they arrived she said Phillips turned off both their cellphones and then got out of the car with a small black gun. Moments later she heard gunshots and Phillips returned to the car. The pair drove back to Pensacola.

Video footage from a nearby home the night of the shooting showed Parker’s car arriving in the area approximately six minutes before the first 911 call came in.
About one minute after the 911 calls began, the suspected shooter was seen getting back into the vehicle and leaving.
