PACE — After nearly a week of searching, 20-year-old Christopher Anthony Madine was found dead inside his vehicle Sunday.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Rich Aloy confirmed the news Monday evening. No further information was released.

"He was found deceased in his vehicle," he said. "The case is still under investigation."

Christopher had been missing since July 31. That's the last time he spoke to his father, Navy veteran Michael Madine. Michael told Santa Rosa Press Gazette he spoke to his son around 8 or 9 p.m. that night. He was playing an online game with a friend, who reported to Michael he last spoke to him around 10 p.m. that evening.

SRSO confirmed a missing persons report was filed on Christopher Aug. 3.

“He was working over at Lowe’s,” Michael told the Press Gazette last week. “And working out trying to get into shape to go into the fire academy…He just had three to four friends here he hung out with, online playing a game or meeting up to do something.”

Michael tried to locate his son using social media apps hoping to find clues of his son's whereabouts. He said his son gave no indications of leaving, especially since Michael purchased season tickets to the New Orleans Saints.

"That’s all he’s been talking about since I got the tickets," Michael told the Press Gazette.

In a Facebook post, Christopher's mother Kendra Holland-Madine confirmed the news of her son's death. "We would like to thank everyone for their help and prayers," she wrote.
