Santa Rosa courthouse site decisions — or lack thereof

[Pixabay.com]

Dear editor,

It seems that many of our government agencies and elected officials, particularly the county commissioners, have gone mad, using hard-earned tax monies foolishly to buy land, or put up "earnest money," for land for a courthouse site when the county already owns land that, in the opinion of thinking people, is a better site for this purpose.

Two recent letters to the editor, and some others throughout the year, have cited very good, sane reasons to use presently owned sites.

It seems common sense is in short supply among some of the commissioners who have, apparently, lost sight of the fact that citizens do care about and pay attention to the the wasteful antics of some on the commission.

The proposed deal for land on Avalon that three commissioners voted to buy surely smells like there is something "rotten in Denmark."
