MILTON — Due to pervasive cloud cover, anyone watching Monday’s solar eclipse would only have seen a slightly darker sky than what the clouds would produce.
Milton High School students attempted to view the eclipse with solar eclipse glasses and pinhole cameras made out of cereal boxes. The school didn’t buy eclipse glasses for all the students, but science teacher Cathy Barnhill said some of the teachers bought 50 pairs.
Sam Ezell’s class watched eclipse coverage on television as well as an educational video by Jeff Baugus, Santa Rosa County School District math and science coordinator.
“It may be darker than clouds would account for,” he said.
