Dear editor,
A huge thank you to Sheriff Bob Johnson and the staff of outstanding officers who host the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Rosa County.
This course covers many aspects of law enforcement taught by dedicated, highly skilled officers/instructors who specialize in patrolling; SWAT; drug- and gang-related issues; traffic; crime scenes; evidence collecting, cataloging, and storage; warrants; K-9 demonstrations; public safety and security; weaponry; officer training, simulations, and expectations; DUI; sex offenders; and more.
Instructors go above and beyond to share their personal experiences — spending time after hours to devote to these classes.
Class members participate in a wide variety of hands-on experiences and learn first-hand what our officers encounter on a daily basis in our area.
These classes are free and are offered one evening every other week. Please contact the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office to find out when the next class will be offered.
You won't be disappointed, and you will gain a better understanding of what our local law enforcement officers face [in] keeping the citizens of Santa Rosa County protected and safe.
