Milton traffic stop leads to narcotics arrest

$11,307 in assorted rolls of cash and 4.2 pounds of suspected marijuana packaged in four clear plastic bags were among items located in a vehicle, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. [Special to the Press Gazette]

MILTON — On Sept. 15, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white truck near the intersection of Datura Street and Hunter Street in Milton.

The vehicle reportedly was stopped for speeding 35 mph in a 20 mph zone. Upon deputies’ approaching the vehicle, a heavy smell of burned marijuana emerged, according to a sheriff’s office media release. At that point, the suspect was asked to exit the vehicle.

These items, according to the sheriff’s office, were located in the vehicle:

  • 4.2 pounds of suspected marijuana packaged in four clear plastic bags
  • Two small containers with suspected THC tar
  • 1 digital scale with suspected marijuana residue
  • 51 round white Buprion pills
  • 13 blue round Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills (30mg/Schedule II)
  • 28 grams of white rectangle methadone pills (10mg/Schedule II)
  • 6 yellow oblong Alprazolum pills (.5mg/Schedule IV)
  • 2 yellow bar Alprazolum pills (2mg/Schedule IV)
  • 6 peach round Alprazolum pills (Schedule IV)
  • 7 white round Methadone pills (10mg/Schedule II)
  • 9 grams of white round Hydromorphone pills (Schedule II)
  • 3 white round Modafinil pills (200mg/Schedule II)
  • 2 sets of Zig-Zag rolling papers
  • $11,307 in assorted rolls of cash

The suspect was identified as Zachary Brian Frick, 32, of Milton, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Frick was arrested and transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he was charged with seven counts possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, one count possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and one count trafficking an opium derivative.

Frick was given a total bond of $160,000 and will be given a court date when he is released.
