MIAMI — Florida’s medical cannabis patients will soon be able to access edible cannabis products thanks to a partnership between Bhang and Trulieve.

"We’re proud to partner with the leading medical cannabis company in the state of Florida," Bhang founder and CEO Scott Van Rixel said. "Trulieve is an outstanding cannabis company with extensive knowledge, resources, and passion in everything they do, and we believe that this partnership will be a great fit for Bhang in Florida."

The agreement will bring Bhang’s line of edible cannabis-infused products to Trulieve, a Florida medical cannabis provider. Once the products receive approval from the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use, Bhang will be available exclusively at Trulieve. Presently, there can be no assurance as to the timing and scope of such regulatory approval, when and if it is obtained.

"We continue to look for partnerships that will benefit our patients and continue to provide relief in a safe, dependable manner. As an international, award-winning brand and customer favorite, Bhang’s flavorful, consistent, and reliable products will truly enhance what we can offer to our patients," said Kim Rivers, CEO of Trulieve.

This agreement is part of Bhang’s continued worldwide expansion. The company’s popular products are currently available in California, New Mexico, and Michigan, with Illinois, Canada, and Germany in the process of coming online. Bhang expects to expand into Puerto Rico and more international hubs like Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland through 2019.

According to a report from BDS Analytics and The Arcview Group, Florida’s medical cannabis market is expected to grow rapidly and exceed $1 billion by 2020. With a population of 21 million, 19 percent of whom are seniors, Florida is on track to have hundreds of thousands of medical marijuana patients. The burgeoning system currently has more than 150,000 registered patients and 1,650 registered physicians, with those numbers expected to almost triple by 2020.
