ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER NOW ACCEPTS CIGNA INSURANCE: The Friary at Lakeview Center is now accepting Cigna Insurance for services. The Friary accepts many other health insurance plans including TriCare, and authorization for services is based on medical necessity.

Addiction treatment is not something that an individual or family should ignore. The Friary admissions team is striving to help the community by working with clients to determine their coverages and offer options when insurance won’t fully cover treatment.

SANTA ROSA SCHOOL BOARD MEET AND GREET: 7 p.m. Aug. 7 there will be a "meet and greet" of Santa Rosa School Board candidates at the Parish Hall of St. Mary's Episcopal Church at 6950 Oak, Milton. The event is open to the public. 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC INPUT: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Guy Thompson Community Center, 5629 Byrom St. the city of Milton will conduct a public meeting to discuss capital improvements for Carpetner's Park. The sole purpose of this meeting will be to iscuss a $250,000 application for a FRDAP Program Grant to help finance construction of the chidlren's water playground facilities at the park.

MILTON GARDEN CLUB: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 14 the Milton Garden Club is hosting a Mad Hatters Tea Party at the Main Street Event Center, 5256 Alabama Street. This event is free and open to all adults. For more information, email miltongardenclub@yahoo.com.

SACRED HEART FREE SEMINARS FOR SENIORS: During August, Sacred Heart Senior Services will offer three free "Healthy Living" seminars at locations in Northwest Florida. "Do You Know What’s in Your Medicine Cabinet?" will take place 9:30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola Conference Center, Greenhut Auditorium, 5151 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola. Suzanne Kelley will speak, a pharmacist with Covenant Care. Valet parking is available at the hospital front entrance.

"Aging in Place and in the Community" will take place 12 to 1 p.m. Aug. 23 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Chapel Conference Room, 100 Daniel Dr., Gulf Breeze. Lauren Meadors will speak, development coordinator with the Council on Aging of West Florida, Inc.

SANTA ROSA SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES MEET AND GREET: 7 p.m. Aug. 7 there will be a meet-and-greet event for Santa Rosa School Board candidates at the parish hall of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 6950 Oak St., Milton.

SHORT COURSE NORTH: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10, Short Course North, a Florida Federation of Garden Clubs sponsored event, will teach gardening and environmental issues at the Escambia County Extension 4-H Building, 3740 Stefani Rd, Cantonment. Discover how to plant and maintain ornamental grasses, pollinator and native plants, shade and rain gardening, and alternatives to turf. MILTON GARDEN CLUB MONTHLY MEETING AND PROGRAM: 9:30-11:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month, September through May at the Milton Event Center, 5256 Alabama St.
