MILTON — Upcoming Santa Rosa County events and activities are as follows. 

FOO FOO FESTIVAL WRITER EVENT: Nov. 3-12. The West Florida Literary Federation presents “Writing on the Funny Side of Florida” Nov. 9 featuring three authors: Pensacola native Craig Pittman, humor columnist Erik Deckers of Orlando and writer and comedian Leanna Conley of Gulf Breeze. They will teach humor-writing workshops from 2-5 p.m. at the Pensacola Cultural Center. Admission is a nominal fee, which will benefit WLFL’s other missions. The venue will change to the Artel Gallery for free events from 6-9:30 p.m., and festivities will include a musical break with The String Farm Band, writer readings and book signings.

VENDORS WANTED: The Milton Eastern Star Chapter seeks vendors for a Christmas Village craft fair set Nov. 4. The event will be held on the grounds of the Santa Rosa Masonic Lodge on Highway 90 in Milton. Food, craft and other vendors are invited to apply. Details: 623-4066.

YARD SALE: The Santa Rosa County Democratic Executive Committee has set a yard sale for Saturday, Nov. 4, 7 a.m., at 4966 Henry St., Milton. 

BEER COLLECTIBLE TRADE SHOW: Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 44, 6781 State Highway 59 in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Brewery Collectibles Club of America presents the Gulf Shores Show, a beer collectibles trade show. Outside beverages or food are allowed. CHRISTMAS VILLAGE CRAFT FAIR: Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Milton Masonic Lodge, 5158 Pike St., in Milton. The Milton Eastern Star chapter will present a Christmas Village craft fair with booths inside and out for arts, crafts, food, gifts and holiday decorations. REPUBLICAN CLUB OF SANTA ROSA COUNTY: Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Club At Hidden Creek, 7030 PGA Blvd., Navarre. Features a Dutch treat dinner (pay as you go). The featured speaker is David Smith, a political activist and vice president of the Republican Club, who will address the proposed half-cent sales tax.

RETIRED OFFICERS' WIVES AND WIDOWS ASSOCIATION LUNCHEON AND MEETING: Nov. 9, 11 a.m. at Franco's, 523 Gregory St., Pensacola. NAVARRE GARDEN CLUB’S ANNUAL SANTA’S WORKSHOP: Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Navarre Conference Center, 8700 Navarre Parkway, Navarre. A variety of artists and craftspeople will offer items. Ye Olde Bake Shop will feature various baked cakes, pies and goodies for your Thanksgiving table. Santa will wait to hear your child’s Christmas requests, and have his picture taken with your child. “This is a great opportunity to offer your craft for sale to the public,” an event spokesperson says. Indoor 9- by 5-foot booths will rent for $40, with a table costing $45; also, a limited number of outside 10- by 10-foot booth spaces are available for $40.
