Gulf Islands National Seashore’s November, December ranger programs

GULF BREEZE —Gulf Islands National Seashore’s fall (November through December) ranger programs are as follows.   

FORT BARRANCAS AREA: Open Thursdays through Mondays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Advanced Redoubt: Legacy in Brick & Mortar — Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.; meet at the entrance to Advanced Redoubt.
  • Fort Barrancas: Bastions on the Bluffs — Saturdays and Sundays at 1:30 p.m.; meet at the Fort Barrancas Visitor Center.

FORT PICKENS AREA: The Fort Pickens Museum is open daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • School of the Soldier — Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.; meet at the Fort Pickens Bookstore. This 30-minute program includes firing demonstrations when the staff is available.
  • Fort Pickens: Guardian of the Gulf — Daily at 1:30 p.m.; meet at the Fort Pickens Bookstore for this 45-minute program.
  • Nature Walk: Life on a Barrier Island — Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.; meet at the Fort Pickens Bookstore for this 30-minute program.

There will be no public programs on Nov. 10 and 23; and Dec. 8 and 25. All programs are free and are subject to change without notification. 

There is an entrance fee to the Fort Pickens and Fort Barrancas Areas.
