MILTON — The city of Milton is accepting signups for a basketball program covering seven age groups for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.
In addition, the Guy Thompson Community Center is collaborating with basketball coaches at Milton High School to conduct a free basketball clinic for third- through eighth-graders.
The basketball program’s divisions are as follows:

Kindergarten (coed)

First and second grades (coed)

Boys grades 3–4

Boys grades 5–6

Boys grades 7–8

Girls grades 3–5

Girls grades 6–8
Registration is accepted at the Guy Thompson Community Center every Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue through Dec. 7 or when an age group reaches its maximum capacity of players.
The registration fee is $90 per child. Players will be selected to their respective teams by a draft process that will follow a brief skills workout.
The boys clinic will be held Nov. 27 and Nov. 30 with grades three through five held from 6-7 p.m.; the sixth- through eighth-grade boys clinic is 7-8 p.m.
The girls clinic will be held Dec. 2 and Dec. 6. On Dec. 2, the third- through fifth-grade skills clinic will be from 1-2 p.m.; the sixth- through eighth-grade clinic will be from 2-3 p.m.
On Dec. 6, the grades three to five clinic will be from 6-7 p.m. and grades six through eight will be from 7-8 p.m.
"We are excited about the upcoming season," said Robert Arnold, the Recreation and Activities coordinator with the Milton Parks and Recreation Department. "We have a great program developing with the city of Milton and are looking to build on what was started last year.
"This year will be the fourth consecutive year where we have featured two different all-girl leagues and we are looking forward to building on this success."
All games will be played at the Guy Thompson Community Center.
