PEA RIDGE — Pea Ridge Elementary School students received a visit from Santa Claus Monday during Naval Air Station Whiting Field Helicopter Training Squadron 18’s Santa Fly-In.
Due to the weather, Santa Claus didn't fly in, as expected. He instead arrived by fire truck — with the help of Pace and Whiting Field's fire departments.
The fire truck drove slowly through the Pea Ridge parking lot where children in a row cheered and shouted. Santa entered the school with HT-18 flight students and Pea Ridge’s Elite Eagles. The Elite Eagles are Pea Ridge students who have maintained a 95 grade-point-average.
They all went from class to class singing Christmas carols and delivering candy canes to Pea Ridge students.
