MILTON — The Christmas season ends soon and, when it does, Santa Rosa County's environmental department encourages residents to "treecycle."

Area residents can drop their natural Christmas trees off at one of several locations by Monday, Jan. 15. The trees will be repurposed as mulch through Keep Santa Rosa Beautiful.

  • Residents can place trees in one of these designated areas:
  • Clean Community System/Green-Up Nursery — 6758 Park Ave., Milton
  • Jay Transfer Station — Transfer Station Road, Jay
  • Pace Volunteer Fire Department — 4773 Pace Patriot Blvd, Pace
  • Navarre Beach Boat Ramp Parking Lot Recycle Area — Gulf Boulevard, Navarre Beach
  • Tiger Point Recreation Area — Gulf Breeze, east of Walmart

Only real trees are eligible for the program; no artificial trees will be accepted. The mulch availability date will be announced later.

Contact the Santa Rosa County Environmental Department, 981-7135, for more information.
