SACRED HEART HEART-HEALTH SCREENINGS: Sacred Heart Health System will provide free heart-health screenings at locations in Pensacola, Milton and Century for adults who are poor, elderly or uninsured. Here is the schedule for early-January adult screenings: Jan. 3 from 9-11:30 a.m. at Bagdad Senior Center, 6860 Pooley St., Milton; Jan. 6 from 9-11:30 a.m. at Greater Bethlehem AME Church, 5299 Richburg St., Milton; Jan. 9 from 9-11:30 a.m. at Gull Point Community Center, 7000 Spanish Trail Road, Pensacola; and Jan. 10 from 9-11:30 a.m. at Century Senior Center, 6025 Industrial Blvd., Century. PACE GARDEN CLUB TO FOCUS ON FENG SHUI: Azalea Garden Club's next monthly meeting is Jan. 8, 12:30 p.m., at the Pace Fire Department Conference Room, 4773 Pace Patriot Blvd. Jean and Margie will present, "Feng Shui Gardening." Guests and prospective members are welcome. The club’s 2018 schedule brings another Old English Tea fundraiser and new activities for children. Details: Jean at 380-2256.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY 4-H QUILTING WORKSHOPS: Santa Rosa County 4-H will offer a "Past, Present & Future 4-H Quilting Class" workshop series for current, former or prospective 4-Hers as well as adults. The series, in partnership with the Home & Community Educator volunteers, will teach the basics of quilting and prepare students for quilting projects. The cost is $10 per class ($40 total). Here is the schedule: Jan. 13 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) — picking the pattern; Feb. 10 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) — cutting the quilt; March 10 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) — sewing it up; and April 14 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) — putting it all together. YOUTH BASEBALL, T-BALL, SOFTBALL REGISTRATIONS: Gospel Projects Youth Athletic Club will open baseball, T-ball and girls softball registrations. Parents can register their children for these sports from Tuesday, Jan. 16 through Saturday, Feb. 17. Gospel Projects provides programs for players ages 3 ½ to 16 for girls and ages 3 ½ to 14 for boys.
