Overly harsh criticism

Dear editor,

While I commend Ms. Lunsford for her work at the city council and being a female pioneer in local government, her criticism of the Main Street Milton organization seems overly harsh. 

How ironic that her comments are in the same edition of the Press Gazette, Aug 18, which has the entire front page of the Lifestyle section covered with pictures of children enjoying 'Waterfest'. That event was hosted by Main Street Milton. If that's the kind of special interest Ms Lunsford was referring to, we should get some more! 

When Main Street Milton moved into the Milton Garden Club building, we were warned about the "bad politics". We did not prejudge and welcomed them. It has been a good relationship between the groups so far. 

I urge everyone to keep an open mind and just watch what happens. I like events like the Waterfest and look forward to seeing what else they come up with.
