MILTON  — These library events are scheduled throughout Santa Rosa County.

UPCOMING

TODDLER TIME: This program is for children ages 18 to 36 months who attend with a caregiver. One child and one adult register together for songs, stories, rhymes and other activities. The 20-minute program lasts six weeks.

Toddler Time will be presented during the following times Jan. 17 through Feb. 21:

  • 11-11:20 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Pace Library
  • 11-11:20 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Navarre Library

Toddler Time requires registration at the Navarre Library or Pace Library. Space is limited, and it is not a drop-in program.

WINNIE THE POOH DAY: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. Celebrate National Winnie the Pooh Day with a variety of Pooh-themed activities and crafts. The Friends of the Milton Library will provide refreshments.

EARLY LEARNING COALITION STORYTIME: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. In honor of Celebrate Literacy Week, the Early Learning Coalition of Santa Rosa County will offer storytime with Mother Goose. Parents can visit the parent education booth for early-literacy strategies. Drop by at the following times for stories and to benefit from the helpful resources they will share.

  • 10 a.m. or 11:20 a.m.: infant to 2 years old
  • 10:30 a.m.: 3-4 years old
  • 11 a.m. or 11:45 a.m.: five years old and up

‘BIRDS OVERWINTERING’ PRESENTATION: 10 a.m. Jan. 20, Pace Library, 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. The Azalea Garden Club of Pace will present this program for youths in kindergarten through eighth grade. Learn about birds that spend the winter in our area, and create a bird feeder with a pinecone and peanut butter! Supplies will be provided. Space is limited; visit the Pace Library to register.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: These programs are presented for preschool children ages 3 through 5 and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Programs start promptly at the assigned times; latecomers are not admitted.

Storytime will be presented during the following times through Feb. 23:

  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Milton Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Gulf Breeze Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

ANIMANGA CLUB: 4 p.m. third Tuesdays of each month, Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Bring your art; discuss techniques of drawing, cartooning, anime and manga, as well as your favorite titles and artists in those genres. Open to sixth- through eighth-graders.

GRAPHIC NOVEL BOOK CLUB: 5 p.m. third Tuesdays at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. Members can suggest reading ideas, interests and discuss the world of the graphic novel. Visit the library to register.

BIBLIOBABBLERS TEEN BOOK CLUB: 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every other month in the Gulf Breeze Library’s meeting room, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Ninth- through 12th-graders who are 14 to 18 years old can discuss the read-of-the-month with friends. This month's book is "Confessions of a Murder Suspect" by James Patterson.

BOOK CHAT: 4 p.m. first Wednesdays at the Pace Library, 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. Read a book and then join the conversation. Registration is required.

THE ILLUSTRIATES GRAPHIC NOVEL BOOK CLUB: 4 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road. Sixth- through 12th-graders can join fellow graphic novel enthusiasts to discuss the book of the month. Members can suggest reading ideas, interests, and discuss the world of the graphic novel. Speak with a staff member to sign up.

COFFEE TALK BOOK CLUB: 6:30 p.m. second Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Call the library, 981-7323, to sign up.

NAVARRE AUTHORS CLUB: 4 p.m., third Wednesday of every month at the Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road. Join other local authors; topics of discussion will include everything from the writing process to how a new author can be published.

PAGE TURNERS: 10:30 a.m. second Fridays of every other month at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. There is a limit of 20 participants, so call 981-7323 or visit the library to sign up.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. second and fourth Fridays, Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road.

UF-IFAS EXTENSION: 10 a.m. every third Friday at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences presents a monthly series on a variety of topics including agriculture, the environment, sustainable living, disaster preparation and recovery, 4-H youth development, family and consumer issues, and lawn and garden problems. This month’s presentation is "Butterflies and Butterfly Gardening" with Louise Biernesser and Annie McIlhenny, Florida Master Gardeners.

FICTION FANATICS BOOK CLUB: 4 p.m. on the fourth Friday of every month (except May and November) at the Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road. Registration required; speak to a staff member to reserve a copy of the selected book. This month's selection is "Almost There" by Lori O'Gara.
