MILTON — The Santa Rosa County Tax Collector's office has removed the mail fee charged for online or mailed transactions, particularly for tag renewals.
"We have removed the fees previously charged for mailing registrations to our customers," Tax Collector Stan Nichols said. "This change, we hope, will encourage the public to renew online, or by mail, rather than in person.
"We hope this change will result in shorter lines, allowing us to provide more efficient service to Santa Rosa citizens."
It now costs the same to renew vehicle registration online, by mail or in the office.
Residents can skip the line and renew at www.santarosatax.com .
