GULF BREEZE — The 21st Double Bridge Run, presented by Publix, is scheduled for Feb. 3.
The 15K starts at Community Maritime Park while the 5K begins on Daniel Drive in Gulf Breeze; both events end at the Portofino Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach.
The race, recently named as one of the Top 20 January / February Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society, will attract almost 5,000 runners from over 40 states.
New this year is a team competition for the 15K race. Teams can enter in three categories — male, female and co-ed. Teams can have as many people as they want, with the five fastest finishers counting toward the team score.
During the registration process at www.doublebridgerun.com, participants will indicate which team they are on from a drop-down menu, or they can create a team. There is no additional cost to join a team or participate in the team challenge.
Additionally, on Feb. 1 and 2, the Expo and Packet Pick-Up, presented by Zarzaur Law, PA, will be held at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach. Attendees can visit multiple vendors, free of charge, and register for the race, if spots are still available.
Visit doublebridgerun.com for more information on the race and to sign up. The participation cap is 3,500 and 1,500 for the 15K and 5K, respectively.
There is no day-of-race registration.
