MILTON — The weather warmed up in time for the Milton Garden Club’s Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday at the new Milton Event Center.

Visitors received a free tree from the Florida Forest Service, learned about trees and how to take care of them from Florida Master Gardeners, saw displays of animals that live in the forest and enjoyed a chili lunch.

While National Arbor Day is April 27, Florida celebrates Arbor Day the third Thursday of January each year.

Milton has been one of Florida’s 179 Tree City USA Communities for 22 years.
