NAVARRE — The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Office reports how tourism supports county residents by generating tax dollars. According to the TDO, students, young professionals and families all enjoy an improved quality of life due to guests.
The following information comes from a Visit Florida Economic Impact of Out-of-State Visitors study and calculations using the Florida Department of Revenue data.
Tourism does the following:
- provides $551.9 million in economic impact
- generates $8.1 million in local sales tax revenue
- helps pay for programs important to the county like infrastructure, schools and public safety
- pays $146.4 million in compensation
- creates 5,020 jobs
