MILTON — A 93-unit, 3-story senior apartment complex has just opened up in Milton at 6208 Berryhill Road. The managing company Vestcor held a grand opening ceremony on Sept. 21 at the complex with city council and Santa Rosa chamber members in attendance.

Steve Moore, president of Vestcor, said that the company was excited to be able to partner with the city of Milton to bring a senior apartment complex to Santa Rosa. Moore said this complex was designed for citizens who are 55 years old and older. Moore said the complex offers many things for the seniors. On the first floor is an activity room with a kitchen, a common room with computers and Wi-fi, a courtyard pavilion with grills, dog park areas, gym area, and gardens. On the second floor the seniors can enjoy a fully functional movie theater-quality movie room.

"This complex has everything," he said. "We are so excited to offer this to the seniors of Santa Rosa."

Moore said each apartment includes fully equipped kitchens with energy-efficient appliances, walk-in closets, and living room spaces. The complex has elevators and storage spaces for residents.

He said that at the time of opening the complex was at 99 percent capacity with only one apartment left. Moore said that another complex was being built in Pensacola that was near completion.
