MILTON — Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide in Milton.
At 11:30 p.m. Oct. 21 deputies with the SRSO received a call in reference to a medical emergency on John Hamm Road near Highway 87, according to a press release from SRSO Public Information Officer Sergeant Rich Aloy.
“Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male on the side of the road,” Aloy said in the release. “Deputies provided emergency medical assistance but the individual was deceased.”
The individual was later identified as 21-year-old Milton resident Tyler Howell. The initial cause of death appears to be a gunshot wound, according to the press release.
The Sheriff's Office is currently looking for a blue 2015 Chevy Cruz with a Florida tag 059-RUB.
Anyone with information on the location of this vehicle should contact law enforcement immediately. To report anonymously, contact the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers Program at 850-437-STOP. There is a reward of up to $3000 for information leading to an arrest, according to the SRSO.
