MILTON — United Way of Santa Rosa County Executive Director Guy Thompson and two unnamed others are no longer employed by the nonprofit since Oct. 26, according to a press release from board of directors member Pamela Holt.
Oct. 3, the board announced Thompson and these two would go on paid administrative leave while an independent auditor investigated what Holt said were accounting irregularities. Thompson had served as the head of the organization for over two decades according to the board.
Major Gifts Manager Kyle Holley will continue as acting administrator.
"Holley is more than capable of completing this year's campaign," Holt said.
The unnamed persons involved in the investigation, according to Holt, will not return to their duties due to re-organizing of the non-profit organization.
“Although the forensic audit and investigation continues, the board of directors is working diligently to continue the mission,” she said. "We are open for business. We believe in people and we want people to believe in us."
