PACE — Construction has commenced on an assisted living community at 3436 Berryhill Road. Nov. 6, members of the Pace Chamber of Commerce, and the Canopy Senior Living and Concordis Senior Care Management companies broke ground on the 64-unit facility.

The Canopy on Berryhill will sit between Stonebrook Golf Club to the west and the Santa Rosa Sports Plex just north. The Pace Sacred Heart Medical Group is approximately an 8-minute drive south.

Brad Womble, co-owner of Canopy, said Pace was an ideal place for the new assisted living facility.

"We toured smaller markets throughout the southeast," Womble said. "In doing so, what we found was really saddening. The majority of these markets did not have a place where any of us would want our parents to live."

Womble said his company’s mission was to allow seniors the opportunity to be able to stay in their community and provide seniors with "a first class" home in their hometown near their families. After choosing Pace for the next facility’s location, Womble said he proceeded to build a team of experts in the senior sector to bring his vision to reality.

"Micah Linton’s Rimrock Development Company is the key asset behind organizing and implementing each of our Canopy Projects," he said. "We have been very fortunate to leverage Rimrock’s Development experience and a huge thank you goes out to everyone on their team."

According to their websites, Concordis is a senior living management company that provides a customized care plan for the residents prior to their arrival and a 24-hour staff.
