MILTON — Milton Police Department will soon be getting a new look to their building. Milton City Council made a motion to accept a bid from Gulf Coast Construction Industrial Construction, LLC company to handle the renovations at the Nov. 13 city council meeting. 

John Baggett, owner of GCCIC, said in his bid that the construction will take approximately 90 to 120 days to complete. In his resume, Baggett said he has been a registered contractor for over 20 years with experience in government, commercial, industrial and residential construction. He has previously worked on the construction of City of Milton's firehouse and warehouse as well as various projects on Baptist Hospital and the Santa Rosa County School District.

The city council unanimously spoke in favor of the construction and commended the MPD for their dedicated service.

MPD Chief Tony Tindell said that the new addition to the building would allow an area where officers and staff can experience a greater level of training than they can in the current building.

"We are very excited about it," Tindell said. "We will be able to have training, public meetings, and job interviews in this new addition."

The MPD currently is housed in the old Milton Town Hall on Alabama Street.
