MILTON — The weather this parade season forced some organizers to reschedule. However, despite gloomy skies, the Dec. 7 Light Up Milton Parades went on.
By the time the parade started at 4:30 p.m. the temperatures had dropped and people were slowly making the walk with children in hand to the starting point.
Parade planners had a lot of activities for children and adults. Santa and Mrs. Claus were there to talk with children as well as Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The Bennett C. Russell Elementary School choir performed and there were stations throughout the Riverwalk with live or recorded music playing. For those that were bundled up there was an outside movie, "Elf," next to the Imogene Theater.
There was also food available from vendors selling kettle corn, funnel cakes, pork shish-kebabs and local downtown establishments were open during the event.
