Unidentified body found along bank of the Escambia River in Jay

JAY — Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the death of an unidentified adult female found in Jay.

According to a press release from the SRSO, at approximately 11 am on Dec. 9, the SRSO Dispatch Center received a call about individual who was found deceased along the bank of the Escambia River in Jay. The location was approximately 1 mile south of Terrell Landing Boat Ramp, according to the report.

The SRSO said the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. More information will be released as it is given.
