MILTON — The Burger King at 6682 U.S. Highway 90 — store #1618 — was temporarily closed Dec. 7 after Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited the eatery with several health violations including wastewater covering the kitchen floor.

These are some of the details found in the reports from the inspector.

On Dec. 6 inspectors with FDBPR came to the establishment to do a routine food and health inspection. According to the report, inspectors witnessed a hole in the wall next to the walk in cooler and exit door which someone could, "easily see outside bricks of the building." Also on the report, the men's and women's restrooms would not provide water for 15 seconds after being turned on and debris was noted next to the fryers and freezer. The report said these were all repeat violations.

The report went on to say that sewage and wastewater was backing up through the floor drains underneath the three compartment sinks. According the the report the wastewater was, "throughout the entire kitchen and employees [were] walking through the waste water." The report listed this as, "high priority."

The department ordered the fast food establishment be temporarily closed until they had successfully met necessarily requirements. On Dec. 7 the department issued another report stating that the eatery had not met the necessary requirements and that someone had, "removed/covered/defaced closure sign posted by the division," and were operating on a suspended license.

On Dec. 8 it was reported by the inspectors that BK had met necessary requirements to operate business normally.

After reaching out to FDBPR they said they could not disclose whether the fast food restaurant would face repercussion from removing the closure sign before being allowed to.
