Women's basketball: victories for both schools

MILTON — Displaying the team spirit and pride that both teams are known for, Milton's Lady Panthers and Pace's Lady Patriots each gave impressive performances Jan. 10 as the played each other at Milton High.

The JV teams worked together with impressive shots by Milton's Mynakia Frasier (15) and Pace's Sophie Richards (20). The JV teams held it together keeping it a tight competition, at one point near the end holding a tying score. In the fourth quarter, with only seconds on the clock, Milton pulled ahead to win the game by one — final score 35-34.

The varsity teams were equally impressive on the court with stunning moves by Milton's Silvi Ellis (33) and Pace's Makayla Michael (22). However, Pace held a steady lead over Milton and ultimately winning by 24, final score 54-30.

The next games for each schools will be as follows: Pace varsity will play Pine Forest at Pine Forest High School on Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. Milton JV and varsity will play Crestview at Crestview High School on Jan. 14. at 5 p.m.

MHS girl's basketball team is coached by Keith Cone and Derek Freeman. PHS girl's basketball team is coached by varsity coaches Greg Gill, Tailer Preston and JV coach Mark Brabham.
