I wish to make three comments on Ms. Chrys Holley’s March 11 letter, “Divided we fall.”
First, we’re not all as smart as Ms. Holley nor watch or read the same media outlets as her, therefore, we don’t know what Ms. Holley means when she refers to the acronym “AOC,” as in the seventh paragraph of her letter. In the future, Ms. Holley, should reveal/define the meaning of acronyms she uses, and The Press-Gazette should enforce this standard.
Second, in the 11th paragraph, Ms. Holley writes, “God says, “don’t work; don’t eat.” I assume Ms. Holley is referring to II Thessalonians 3:10 which reads (KJV), “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” Thessalonians (first and second) was written by the Apostle Paul, not God. Paul does not attribute these words to God, and neither should Ms. Holley. Holley needs to do some Bible study to understand why Paul wrote these words to the church in Thessalonica.
Third, in the ninth paragraph, Ms. Holley cobbles some alphabetic characters together to come up with a nonword – “createe.” There is no such word as “createe” in the dictionary, and The Press-Gazette should either delete the word from Ms. Holley’s letter or return the letter to her for correction, before publication.
