After breaking for the summer, the Milton Garden Club will kick off the new season with a welcome back event on Tuesday, Aug. 10.
Members are inviting anyone interested in gardening in this area to attend Tuesday’s gathering, which will be held at Magnolia Hall on Alabama Street at 11 a.m.
This will be a great time for newcomers to learn what the Milton Garden Club does.
Each month the club holds a meeting, at which a featured speaker presents a topic related to gardening in the Florida Panhandle. Topics that will be covered in the upcoming year include landscaping native plants, plants to avoid using in this area, verma-composting, long leaf pine preservation, the hidden dangers of micro-plastics, celebrating Arbor Day, and historical communities of the Blackwater.
In addition to monthly meetings and programs, the Milton Garden Club is active in the community in many ways. Come learn about the activities club members are involved in, meet new friends, and find out what the Milton Garden Club is all about.
The clubhouse address is 5256 Alabama Street.
