NAVARRE — Certified health coach and physical conditioning specialist Maria DePasquale is bringing ELDOA classes to Santa Rosa County.

ELDOA exercises may be used to relieve disc compression, decrease pain and improve postural awareness and muscular tone. They also improve overall fitness, flexibility and mobility, according to a media release.

The French acronym translates to "longitudinal osteo-articular decoaptation." The techniques were created in the 1970s by world-renowned expert Dr. Guy Voyer.

DePasquale began studying nerve decompression techniques to relieve back pain in 2009 when operating Specific Fitness in Navarre. She completed Level 1 ELDOA Method training in Louisiana in 2018. She is a student practitioner being mentored by Emily Morgan of HANGAR of Healing.

DePasquale stated in a media release that one minute a day of ELDOA techniques can relieve disc compression between certain verticular areas.

Morgan stated that a rise in pain management treatment has increased ELDOA’s popularity in the last 10-12 years, especially in major metropolitan markets.

DePasquale offers one-hour ELDOA sessions 10 a.m. Saturdays at Holly By the Sea Recreation Center; 11:30 a.m. Mondays at Core Martial Arts Academy, 3483 Gulf Breeze Parkway; and 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays at HANGAR, in 4 Squared Holistic Studio, Pensacola.

She also does presentations and demonstrations for local groups, churches, service organizations and clubs. Contact her at mariad.email@gmail.com, or call or text 850-225-8890. You may also search Facebook ELDOA NW Florida for a class schedule and additional information.
