MILTON — The Early Learning Coalition of Santa Rosa County participated in a week of celebrations in honor of the National Education Association’s 21st annual Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday with several literacy events at local early learning facilities.
“The goal is to show America's children the joy of reading and build a nation of readers,” a press release on the event said. “The coalition is partnering with local child care providers in Read Across Santa Rosa… featuring the Dr. Seuss classic ‘Mr. Brown can MOO, Can you?’”
Sandy Peloke and Whitney Shuler of Santa Rosa’s ELC dressed as the “Cat in the Hat” and “Thing 1” to read to children at child care centers in Milton, Gulf Breeze and Navarre.
