Juana's Pagoda's events
Juana's Pagodas and Sailors' Grill, 1451 Navarre Beach Causeway, Navarre, will host the following events.

2019 Used Book Sale
The Pace Library will have a used book sale 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 6 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. Books, magazines and other items will be for sale from 25 cents to $2. Funds support the library's year round and summer reading programs. Purchase of a Friends of the Pace Library membership also supports the programs. Costs range from $20 for individuals through $100 for businesses through Dec. 31. Those who join at the book sale will get a free tote bag.
Saltwater license-free fishing
Florida residents and visitors may enjoy a saltwater license-free fishing day Sept. 7. Try your hand at saltwater fishing Saturday, Sept. 7, without needing a saltwater fishing license. 4-H open house and awards showcase
A Santa Rosa 4-H open house and awards showcase is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at the University of Florida extension office, 6263 Dogwood Drive, Milton. . Learn about the local 4-H program, meet the staff, and enjoy a cookout there. Call 850-623-3868 for details.
Red Shoe Book Club
The next meeting is 10 a.m. Sept. 16 at the Navarre Public Library, 8484 James Harvell Road. The study of U.S. First Ladies will conclude with a study of Melania Trup. Navarre Beach Coastal Cleanup
Keep Santa Rosa Beautiful will participate in the International Coastal Cleanup in Santa Rosa County. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 21 at Navarre Beach. Participants will meet at the pavilion east of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier. Bring water and ware a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Trash bags will be provided. Free food giveaway
The King's Harvest and Cornerstone Christian Church will give away 65,000 pounds of food free of charge to Santa Rosa County residents. Registration (Only one person per address) opens at 3 p.m. Oct. 2, with distribution starting at 5 p.m. at the church, 14047 Alabama St., Jay. Bring identification to register. Charity golf tournament rescheduled
The third annual Weekend Food Program Charity Golf Tournament originally scheduled in August has been moved to Oct. 25. The event is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at The Club at Hidden Creek, 3070 P.G.A. Tobacco cessation class
Tobacco Free Florida will have a Tools to Quit class 5-7 p.m. Nov. 29 and Dec. 13 at 5527 Stewart St., Milton. Preregistration is required. Call 398-6965 to reserve a spot. The class is free. For those 18 years old, if medically appropriate, the Florida Department of Health offers free nicotine replacement patches, lozenges and gum. It also offers free community, worksite and clinic groups.
Florida Friendly Landscaping Principles Class
Learn about the right timing and methods for fertilizing and weed control, proper irrigation, and other lawn practices from Mary Salinas, Santa Rosa County Extension Office. No pre-registration is required.

Blackwater Literary Journal seeks poems
The Santa Rosa County Writers’ Guild seeks poems for Issue IV of the Blackwater Literary Journal. For a limited time, the guild will accept poetry from county residents. To be considered, the poems should be pasted into the body of an email sent to SRCWG@mediacombb.net.
